Anne Herfurth

Anne Herfurth is an Instructor in the Department of Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science, in the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business. She received her Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Alabama in 2017, and she is currently pursuing her PhD in Management Information Systems as a part-time student. Prior to being hired at The University of Alabama, she worked in an IT-related capacity at two different companies. She was a project manager for Cabem Technologies, a software development company, and she was an Organizational Development Manager at Vulcan Materials Company, where she specialized in HR Analytics. She has taught a variety of undergraduate courses at The University of Alabama. Her classes include Introduction to Management Information Systems, typically taken by first or second year students in the Culverhouse College of Business, as well as the MIS Capstone courses (Systems Analysis & Design; and Systems Construction & Implementation), taken by senior MIS majors. Her research interests focus on human-computer interaction, open source software developer motivation, impacts of toxicity in online forums, cyber hygiene behaviors in adults and children, and ethical considerations around online privacy.
